Will Neck Tie Coolers, Cool Pads and Pink Ribbon Coolers swell up if I just put them in the fridge?
No. You MUST place them in water in order to activate the crystals.
What if I leave the coolers in the water too long?
You must be careful about the length of time you place them in water. Since the crystals expand hundreds of times their size, if you leave them in water for too long they will continue to grow until they’re as hard as a sausage. The cooler will not sit comfortably around your neck then and some of the crystals may seep through the material. The crystals are non-toxic so this is not dangerous but you will need to hang the cooler in the sun to have it dehydrate to a comfortable fit. So it is best to keep an eye on it.
Do I put the coolers in the freezer to make them even colder?
You can but if it is frozen it will not go about your neck until it thaws out a bit. It is best to place it in the freezer for a very short time before use. If it is frozen solid, be careful you do not snap it if you try to shape it frozen.
How do I keep the coolers and Cool Pads cool in an esky?
Neck Tie Cooler and Pink Ribbon Cooler crystals expand in water so prolonged soaking will make your cooler very stiff and perhaps slimy as the crystals keep expanding. This will make it difficult to tie around your neck. If this occurs leave in sun to dehydrate. For this reason do not leave in esky where cooler will "sit" in ice water.
To cool in esky, place in open plastic bag with no holes and fit bag on ice with cooler ties hanging over outer edge (as in picture).
When you wish to use, dunk in ice water to wear.
Cool Pads do not need to conform as much so they “sit” in ice water in an esky.
Can I make Neck Tie Coolers, Cool Pads and Pink Ribbon Coolers hot?
Yes. But since every microwave is different, you will have to test it in your microwave to find what time will give you the heat you desire.
Are they safe for children?
Yes. It's a food grade crystal.
Can I use the coolers on my pets?
Yes.
How do I care for Neck Tie Cooler, Cool Pads and Pink Ribbon Coolers?
Hand wash gently in soapy water. Squeeze dry. Do not machine wash. Do not tumble dry. Do not iron. Keep away from sharp instruments. Allow the Neck Tie Cooler, Pink Ribbon Cooler and Cool Pad to dry completely back to crystals prior to winter storage in the cupboard.
Will the crystals stay up forever?
When they get deflated slightly you just put the cooler or cool pad back in water for 5-10 minutes and it will be like new again.
Are they affected by perfume?
No. You can even put your favourite aromatherapy oils on them if you like.
How do I use the Coolers for hot flushes or a hangover?
It's best to have them cold from being in the fridge. Tie them loosely around your forehead.

You can wrap the coolers around your wrists. The cooler is designed to be one length that will go around the wrists, forehead, neck or ankles.

Where in the fridge should the coolers and Cool Pad be stored?
Simply store them in an open container. Do not fill the container with water. Do not store them in sealed containers or plastic bags for extended periods of time as they may become mouldy.
What happens if the Neck Tie Cooler goes 'flat'?
The crystals will eventually return to their original size if not immersed in water for a long time. This will happen even if the Cooler and Cool Pads are still in the fridge. When they are totally deflated, just immerse them in water for 10 - 15 minutes, and they will inflate again.
How long will the crystals in my Cooler and Cool Pad keep working?
With correct use, they should last you two or three years.
How long do they stay cold?
This depends on the temperature of the day, but most people find several hours. Simply hold them under cold water to cool them again. The cooler the water the better.
How are Neck Tie Coolers used for fundraising with Breast Cancer?
Neck Tie Coolers come in the colours of white, navy, royal blue, lilac, yellow and brown. Pink Ribbon Coolers come in hot pink, pink, hot pink rose, soft pink rose and black. On all the coolers the manufacturer, Kathie Holt, makes a donation of 50c to the National Breast Cancer Foundation before they are sold either wholesale or retail. This is in addition to your personal fundraising cause, so you can promote, if you are using the coolers for fundraising, that people are supporting two causes.

Yes. Please email or call us with what quantities your group would like to buy and we will give you the wholesale bulk rate and discuss with you the variety of ways that others have successfully raised funds. It is important to realize that the products are a seasonal product and often people leave it till it is hot to speak to us. You need to communicate with us early about your requirements so as to ensure adequate supply for you at the time you require it.
What colours are available?
For the Neck Tie Coolers and Pink Ribbon Coolers this varies according to the current supplies but usually they are: white, lilac, royal blue, navy, hot pink, pink, brown, black and yellow. The Cool Hats are available in navy and white.
Can I wear a Neck Tie Cooler or Pink Ribbon Cooler and operate machinery?
Do not wear a Neck Tie Cooler while operating any kind of machinery that the Neck Tie Cooler may get caught in. Neck Tie Coolers takes no responsibility for failure to follow this warning advice.
